Pope Tawadros II Protests Against Persecutions of Ukrainian Orthodox Church

Cairo – Egypt: Holiness Pope Tawadros II sent to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia a letter stating his profound sorrow over the events around the Kiev Pechersky Lavra of the Dormition. The Primate of the Coptic Church also reported that he sent a letter expressing protest over these events to the Ukrainian Embassy in Egypt.

As is known, In March 11, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed a number of religious leaders in the world and representatives of international organizations due to a resurgence of state pressure on Orthodox Christians in Ukraine. Among the addressees was His Holiness Patriarch Tawadros II.
