Patriarch Theodoros II Meets Ugandan President at State House Entebbe

Kampala-Uganda: His Beatitude Theodoros II, the Orthodox Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, was welcomed by President Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House Entebbe upon his arrival in Uganda on February 18,2025.

President Museveni shared details of the meeting on his official X handle, stating:

“I was pleased to welcome His Beatitude Theodoros II, the Orthodox Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, at Entebbe today. We covered a wide range of topics and agreed on the importance of mutual respect among different religious and cultural groups. This idea is illustrated in the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan, where the least likely person ends up being the one who helps someone in need. I wish His Beatitude and his people a good stay in Uganda.”

The meeting was attended by Uganda’s Vice President, Jessica Alupo, while the Patriarch was accompanied by all the Hierarchies of Uganda and his entourage. The discussions highlighted the significance of religious harmony,
