Patriarch Kirill Offers Condolences Following Plane Crash in Ahmedabad

Moscow- Russia: His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has expressed his profound condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the Republic of India following a plane crash near Ahmedabad airport in western India. The Patriarch conveyed his sympathies in a message delivered through the DECR Communications Service on June 12, 2025.
In his message to Prime Minister Modi, Patriarch Kirill stated:
“Your Excellency, Esteemed Mr. Prime Minister,
It was with great sadness that I learned of the plane crash near the Ahmedabad airport. Please accept my sincere condolences on the plane crash.
I deeply sympathize with all those who lost their loved ones in this tragedy, and ask you to convey to them words of comfort and support, as well as wishes for strength and courage to survive the bitterness of loss.”
The Patriarch’s message underscores the Russian Orthodox Church’s solidarity and prayerful support for the victims and their families during this time of sorrow.
