Patriarch Kirill Attended the Military Parade in Honor of the 80th Anniversary of Victory

Moscow- Russia: On May 9, 2025, a military parade was held on Red Square in Moscow to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
Before the start of the parade, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin greeted the leaders of foreign states who had arrived in Moscow to take part in the ceremonial events in the Kremlin.
The parade began with the carrying out of the Russian national flag and the Victory Banner onto Red Square. Then the speech of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the President of Russia V.V. Putin, was made.
Along with the head of the Russian state, the heads of delegations of foreign states were on the podium.
Among the honored guests on the podium was His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Patriarch’s Press Service reports
The parade was also attended by the Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Gregory of Voskresensk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Personal Secretary of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Bishop Alexy of Ramenskoye, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church-Society and Media Relations, V.R. Legoida, Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department for Interaction with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, Chief Military Priest of the Clergy Caring for the Servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces in the SVO Zone, Archpriest Dimitry Vasilenkov.
The parade was commanded by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces, General of the Army Oleg Salyukov. The parade was reviewed by Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.
