Bucharest-Romania: His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received the Czech Republic’s Ambassador to Romania, His Excellency Martin Košatka, at the Patriarchal Residence on February 12,2025.

During his visit, Ambassador Košatka toured the Patriarchal Residence Museum and the Hall of Romanian Saints.

Following the meeting, the ambassador expressed his appreciation: “It was a great honor for me to be received by the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, the spiritual leader of this country.”

“For an ambassador, being welcomed in this palace is truly significant. It was an opportunity for me to discuss many topics with the Patriarch. We began by talking about the Romanian community in my country, which is quite large, and His Beatitude takes great care of them, as they belong to the Romanian Orthodox Church. This was a very good starting point, but we also covered many other matters.”

He also shared his impressions of the Patriarchal Residence: “This was my first experience entering the residence of His Beatitude. It is something wonderful, something beautiful. I also had the opportunity to visit the museum, which is a magnificent space.”

Ambassador Košatka expressed his anticipation for the upcoming consecration of Romania’s National Cathedral, stating: “It will certainly be a great event.”

Martin Košatka was appointed Czech Republic’s Ambassador to Romania in the fall of last year.
