Bucharest-Romania: His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Orthodox Church welcomed His Excellency Dan Mihalache, the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Cyprus, at the Patriarchal Residence on 26th May 2023. The meeting was in a cordial atmosphere. 

After the meeting, Dan Mihalache mentioned the topics discussed in the meeting on his Facebook handle. They discussed the problems of the Romanian community in Cyprus and the relations between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church of Cyprus in a regional context. Earlier this month Ambassador also visited His Beatitude Archbishop George of New Justiniana and All Cyprus in which the Primate of the Church of Cyprus, discussed new projects for Romanians on the island, and aspects of cooperation between the two local Orthodox Churches.
