Nafpaktos – Greece: On June 25-26, 2024, Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE chairman Dr. John & Correna Panagiotou were graciously received and hosted by His Eminence Metropolitan Hierotheos Vlachos of Nafpaktos, Greece at the Nafpaktos Metropolis.

Metropolitan Hierotheos is considered as being the preeminent living theologian in Eastern Orthodox Christianity today. He is famed for his research and writings on the Church Fathers, especially on his teachings on noetic theology. Metropolitan Hierotheos has authored many books which have been translated into several languages and are used as textbooks in seminaries, theological schools, and universities throughout the world. Among his most famous works is his book Orthodox Psychotherapy.

During their visit, Metropolitan Hierotheos expressed his deep gratitude to Correna Panagiotou for all of her help in preserving digitally his theological teachings online so that future generations may be enlightened, inspired, and blessed. His Eminence was also interested in hearing more about Dr. Panagiotou’s ground-breaking work in the area of oikonomia (Christian stewardship). Dr. Panagiotou presented copies of his book and workbook The Path to Oikonomia with Jesus Christ as Our Lighthouse [OCP Publications, 2020] and Workbook Companion of The Path to Oikonomia with Jesus Christ as Our Lighthouse [OCP Publications, 2022] to Metropolitan Hierotheos. His Eminence and the Panagiotous discussed many topics related to theology and ecclesiology during their time together.
