Beirut– Lebanon: The election of General Joseph Aoun as President of the Lebanese Republic has been celebrated as a moment of hope and renewal for Lebanon. Patriarch John X’s Message
Patriarch John X, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Greek Orthodox, expressed his joy at the election, calling it a sign of confidence in Lebanon’s ability to rise above its challenges. “We received with joy the news of your election as President of the Lebanese Republic in a time when Lebanon lives in hope, a Lebanon that is always looking forward to stability and prosperity and always rising like the phoenix, no matter how many crises and severe hardships befall it,” he said.

Patriarch John X highlighted the faith of the Lebanese people in General Aoun’s leadership and the strength of the Lebanese Army, describing it as the “shield of the nation and the symbol of its strength.” He conveyed the congratulations of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East and offered prayers for divine guidance in the President’s leadership journey.

His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, welcomed the election as a new chapter in Lebanon’s history. He expressed hope for restoration and renewal across all spheres of life and assured the support of the Armenian Apostolic community in Lebanon. “This election opens a new page in the modern history of Lebanon,” he remarked, pledging solidarity in efforts to rebuild the nation.
