Moscow- Russia: Music lovers and those interested in Christian traditions will have a unique opportunity to experience the rich tapestry of sacred music from the East at the First Festival of Sacred Music of the Peoples of the Christian East, “Blessed Be the Lord Forever.”
Organized as a joint effort by Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE and others, the festival will be held on June 2nd, 2024, at the Armenian Museum “Tapan.” The Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, and the Saint Cyril and Methodius Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Institute collaborate on this event.
This inaugural event is part of the training course “Ancient Eastern Churches,” a collaborative project aimed at fostering understanding between Orthodox and Eastern Christian traditions. Organizers envision the festival becoming an annual tradition.
The concert program features a collaboration between choirs and ensembles from the Byzantine world (including Russian Orthodox church) and Eastern Christian traditions (including Armenian Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Ethiopian Orthodox, Indian Orthodox, and Assyrian churches).
