Malankara Orthodox Church Delegation Visits Russia to Foster Collaboration in Sacred Arts

Moscow – Russia: On March 02, 2024, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and His Holiness Marthomas Mathews the Third of Malankara, a delegation of the Malankara Orthodox Church arrived in Russia from India. On behalf of the Malankara Church’s educational institutions they will conduct negotiations with the Moscow Theological Academy on promoting cooperation in church singing and icon painting.
The Indian delegation led by Metropolitan Zacharias Aprem of the Adoor – Kadampanad Diocese includes Priests Mathew Koshy and Priests Anoop Raju. During their visit, they are accompanied by Hieromonk Peter (Akhmatkhanov) of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations.
The delegation began their visit with the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius Lavra and the Moscow Theological Academy. On March 03,2024, they attended the Divine Liturgy. Bishop Kirill of Sergiyev Posad and Dmitrov warmly greeted the guests and pointed out that the Russian Orthodox Church and the Malankara Church of India have a long history of bilateral relations.
