Kerala – India: The recent visit of the Joint Choir of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius and the Moscow Theological Academy has left a profound impact on the Indian Orthodox community. The concert was conducted at the special invitation of Catholicos Marthoma Mathews III of Malankara and with the blessings of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

Beyond their captivating performances in Kottayam (November 19, 2024) and Parumala (November 20, 2024), the Russian delegation, led by secretary for inter-Christian relations of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov) and head of the choir, Hieromonk Nestor, also visited the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Kottayam and other prominent pilgrim centers. These visits further strengthened the spiritual and cultural bonds between the two churches.

The event was meticulously organized in collaboration with the Ecumenical Relations Department of the Malankara Orthodox Church and the Church’s Musical Department (Sruthi School of Liturgical Music).
