Addis-Ababa-Ethiopia: Gunmen targeting clergy and faithful killed Aba Tekle Ab and Priest Meseret in the evening of (around 8:30 PM) Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Artu Mekane Kidusan Saint Arsema (Hripsime) Church around Adama in East Shewa Zone of Oromia Regional State in Ethiopia. The assailants abducted two priests and one faithful, whose whereabouts are unknown.

This attack on clergy comes a week after gunmen gruesomely killed clergy, servants, and faithful of Belo Church of God the Father in East Arsi Zone of Oromia during the night (from 10:00-11:00 PM) of Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in the district of Onqolo Wabe. The assailants first entered the home of the Church’s Rector, though he escaped, they killed his wife and child. Afterwards, they executed Mhr. Dawit Getachew, Abeje Kebede, Moges Kinfe, Mersha, Shimelis Tesfaye, Biruk, Emebet Seme and Priest Zerihun. The wounded from that attack receiving treatment include Yirga Moges, Bayu Kadaye, Miheret Belay-yigbaw, Ebute Webshet, and Amele Mihret.
