Constantinople – Turkey: His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I received His Eminence Bishop George Kourieh of Belgium, France, and Luxembourg at the seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople – the Phanar on February 04,2025. During the visit, Bishop George conveyed the warm greetings of His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II to the Ecumenical Patriarch.
The meeting centered on the unique Christian relations shared by the Churches today, with discussions highlighting the ongoing rapprochement efforts and the positive results stemming from contemporary theological dialogue.
Bishop George also expressed his gratitude to Patriarch Bartholomew for his support in representing the Syriac Orthodox Church in Belgium. He specifically thanked the Patriarch for accepting the representation before the Belgian government and official bodies by His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of the Greek Orthodox Church in Belgium.
