Constantinople – Turkey: His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew extended a warm congratulatory message to Mr. Donald Trump, the newly re-elected 47th President of the United States, following his election victory. In a letter sent on November 7, 2024, Patriarch Bartholomew expressed his heartfelt wishes for President Trump’s health, strength, and success as he prepares to embark on his second term in office.
Highlighting the significance of the role, the Ecumenical Patriarch acknowledged the “enormous responsibilities” of presidential leadership, adding that he prays for wisdom and compassion to guide President Trump’s decisions, as well as the resilience required to maintain peace and security in the United States.
In his letter, Patriarch Bartholomew reaffirmed the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s longstanding dedication to promoting dialogue and reconciliation. He conveyed hope that under President Trump’s leadership, the United States would continue to advocate for religious freedom and human dignity, values deeply rooted in the Orthodox Christian tradition and revered by faith communities worldwide.
