Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Meets with Primate of Czech and Slovak Church

Constantinople – Turkey: Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received Archbishop Rostislav of Prešov and Metropolitan of All Czechia and Slovakia at the Phanar on February 13, 2025. The meeting, described as one of “brotherly love,” included Metropolitan Georgios of Michaloupolis and Kassovia, Bishop Isaiah of Olomouc and Brno, Reverend Elder Raphael Moravský, and Eugenius Iveta Apostu.
During their private meeting, Patriarch Bartholomew and Archbishop Rostislav discussed matters of mutual interest. Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, President of the Synodal Committee on Inter-Orthodox Issues, was also present.
Later in the day, the Ecumenical Patriarch hosted a formal dinner in honor of Archbishop Rostislav and his delegation. The visit highlights the ongoing dialogue and connection between the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Church of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
