Bucharest-Romania: His Holiness Pope Tawadros II of the Coptic Orthodox Church met with His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania on Wednesday at the Patriarchal Palace in Bucharest, where the two primates reaffirmed the growing relationship between the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Patriarch Daniel, welcoming the Egyptian delegation in the Europa Christiana Hall, spoke warmly of the historical ties between the two Churches—strengthened especially after 1990 through the friendship between Pope Shenouda III and Patriarch Teoctist. He also acknowledged the ongoing efforts of the Romanian Patriarchate to promote Christian pilgrimage to Egypt and the harmonious presence of the Coptic community in Romania.

During the meeting, both primates exchanged gifts as a gesture of goodwill and mutual respect, further symbolizing their commitment to unity and cooperation. They assured one another of continued collaboration in love and in the spirit of Pan-Orthodox solidarity, emphasizing the importance of deeper ties amid the challenges facing the Christian world today.

The visit also includes stops at notable monastic centers such as Cernica and Pasărea, offering further opportunity for spiritual fellowship and cultural exchange.
