Coptic Orthodox Delegation Visits Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens

Athens- Greece: A high-level delegation from the Coptic Orthodox Church, led by Bishop Apollo of South Sinai, visited the Greek Orthodox Church on December 16, 2024. The visit was made with the blessing of Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria.
The delegation met with His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, discussing the strong and enduring bond between the two Orthodox Churches. They emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in addressing shared challenges.
The meeting also focused on the historical and spiritual ties between the two Churches, particularly highlighting the significance of the Monastery of St. Catherine in Sinai.
The Coptic delegation included His Grace Bishop Pavlos, Bishop of Greece; His Grace Bishop Timotheos, Bishop of Zagazig and Minya Al-Qamh; and His Grace Bishop Daniel, Bishop and Abbot of the Monastery of St. Paul the First Hermit in the Red Sea, as well as the Rapporteur of the Holy Synod’s Committee for Monastic and Monastery Affairs. The Greek Orthodox Church was represented by Father Emmanuel Papamikroulis, Secretary of the Holy Synod’s Committee for Relations between Orthodox Churches and Christians.
