Cooperation at the Forefront as Pope Tawadros Meets New Egyptian Foreign Minister

Cairo – Egypt: On July 28,2024, H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the Papal Residence in Cairo Ambassador Dr. Badr Abdelatty, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by a delegation of the ministry’s leaders.
His Holiness congratulated the new minister and his aides on the confidence of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in him, praising Ambassador Badr Abdelatty’s experience in the diplomatic field and his extensive relations in all the countries in which he worked. He wished him success in his new national mission.
For his part, Dr. Badr Abdelatty thanked His Holiness for his kind words, praising the wisdom of Pope Tawadros in times of crises, and the patriotic spirit to which everyone in Egypt and abroad attests to him.
During the meeting, a dialogue took place about the national role played by Coptic churches in the diaspora. Pope Tawadros explained that the Coptic Orthodox Church has around 500 churches and 10 monasteries spread in 100 countries around the world. Dr. Abdelatty indicated that in all the countries in which he worked, he saw the many activities carried out by Coptic churches in the diaspora, which were attracting their congregation members of all ages.
