Catholicos Karekin II Welcomes Lebanese Sister Church Representatives, Including Metropolitan Antonios (El Soury)

Yerevan-Armenia: His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on June 3, 2025, received representatives from Sister Churches in Lebanon at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The delegation included Metropolitan Antonios (El Soury), head of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Zahle, Baalbek, and dependencies, alongside Archbishop Ibrahim Michael Ibrahim, head of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Zahle and Furzol. They were accompanied by Mr. Nicolas Abou Fayssal, founder and CEO of Gardenia Lebanese Farms.

His Holiness Karekin II extended his blessings to the esteemed guests and expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing cordial relations between the Sister Churches.

In turn, Metropolitan Antonios (El Soury) and Archbishop Ibrahim conveyed their profound gratitude to the Catholicos of All Armenians for the warm reception. They also expressed their solidarity and offered prayerful support for the Armenian Church and the Armenian people, particularly amidst the current challenges facing the Armenian Apostolic Church and its heritage.

The visit underscores the strong ecumenical bonds and mutual support among Christian communities in the Middle East.
