Bulgarian Patriarch Attends Opening of New Parliament

His Holiness Patriarch Daniil of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church attended the inaugural session of Bulgaria’s 51st National Assembly. The religious leader was accompanied by Bishop Gerasim of Melnik, the General Secretary of the Holy Synod.
The event was also attended by President Rumen Radev, Vice President Iliana Yotova, Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, and several ministers. Additionally, representatives from other religions, members of the European Parliament, diplomatic corps, and various institutions were present.
Speaking to the media before the session, Patriarch Daniil expressed his hopes for the new parliament: “We pray for repentance, that God will give repentance to all of us and then things will take off.”
