Armenian Orthodox Youth Visit Russian Orthodox Conception Convent

Moscow- Russia: A delegation of young members from the Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, led by Priest Arsen Paylevanyan, visited the Conception Stavropegic Convent on December 14,2024.
The group, accompanied by Subdeacon Vartan Poghosyan, was given a tour of the monastery, learning about its history and contemporary life. They visited the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, and the Church of the Conception of St. Anna, paying homage to the revered relics housed within.
A highlight of the visit was the opportunity to discuss monastic life with Abbess Juliana (Kaleda), Deputy Chairperson of the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism. She provided insights into the practices of the Russian Orthodox Church and addressed questions raised by the young Armenian visitors.
The event was attended by representatives from the Department for External Church Relations (DECR), including Hieromonk Mark (Akhmatkhanov) and D.E. Arakelyan.
