Cairo – Egypt: Archimandrite Stefanos Soulimiotis Consecrated as the Bishop of Hippo at St. Nicholas Cathedral at the Patriarchal Residence in the Hamzawi area of Cairo on March 03,2024. Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria led the consecration.

Archimandrite Stefanos Soulimiotis was elected by the Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church of Alexandria on February 15, 2024.

The ordination was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Cairo, Mrs. Polly Ioannou, Mr. Nikolaos Papageorgiou, representing the Greek Ambassador to Cairo, the Secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Georgios Economou, Mr. Christos Kavalis, President of the Greek Community in Cairo, Mr. Salem Kassis, Chairman of the Council of Stewards of the Church of the Priests in Al-Zahir, Mr. Georgios. Zomboulidis, head of the Patriarchal Center in Cairo, and representatives of Greek and Arab institutions and associations in Cairo, and others.
