Bucharest-Romania: In the consecration ceremony held at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest on February 16,2025 , Archimandrite Nectarie Clinic was ordained as the new Assistant Bishop of the Chișinău Archdiocese. The ordination, presided over by Patriarch Daniel of Romania, Metropolitan Petru of Bessarabia, and other Romanian hierarchs, coincided with the centennial celebrations of both the Romanian Patriarchate and the Metropolis of Bessarabia.

The newly ordained Bishop Nectarie was elected by the Holy Synod on February 05,2025, filling a vacancy that existed since 2018 when Bishop Antonie became Bishop of Bălți. The ceremony included the reading of the Patriarchal Act of Confirmation and the investiture of episcopal insignia.

Patriarch Daniel emphasized the historical significance of the event, noting the 100th anniversaries and highlighting the need to strengthen pastoral work in Bessarabia. He called for increased efforts to defend Orthodox values, support parishes and monasteries, preserve church heritage, and address contemporary societal challenges such as individualism, poverty, and division. He stressed the importance of connecting liturgy with philanthropy, prayer with action, and spiritual life with social responsibility.

Metropolitan Petru of Bessarabia expressed joy and gratitude for the new bishop, emphasizing the need for unity and stability within the region. He called for stronger church ties that transcend state borders.

Bishop Nectarie, in his first address as bishop, spoke with humility and acknowledged the weight of his new responsibilities. “This calling is not a moment of worldly glory but a cross, a service, and a great responsibility before Christ and His Church,” he stated. He pledged to serve the people of Bessarabia with sacrifice and love, seeking strength not in himself but in Christ. He quoted Saint Ephrem the Syrian, saying, “Lord, do not leave me alone in the hour of trial, but come and fill my weakness with Your grace and power.” His words resonated with the congregation, conveying his commitment to serving the often-troubled region.
