Archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin) Consecrated as Bishop of Căpriana and Vicar of the Diocese of Chisinau (Moldova)

Chişinău – Moldova: Archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin) was consecrated as Vicar of the Diocese of Chisinau with the title Bishop of Căpriana by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all of Moldova with the blessings of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord of Chisinau on 22 October 2023.

Archimandrite Filaret (Cuzmin) was elected by the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on 11 October 2023 with the report of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

According to the official church statement this was an historical event as it was the first bishop consecration led by the Primate of the Moldovan Orthodox Church.
