President Aoun Receives Patriarch John X, Discussions Focus on Lebanon’s Revival

Beirut– Lebanon: President Joseph Aoun welcomed Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East, alongside a delegation of bishops, at the Presidential Palace on January 15,2025. The meeting was marked by expressions of optimism and support for the newly elected President, emphasizing the challenges and opportunities ahead for Lebanon.

Patriarch John X congratulated President Aoun on his election, describing it as a beacon of hope for a nation eager to overcome its crises. “President Aoun has a great and arduous rescue mission ahead of him, and we are all hopeful for a new Lebanon under his reign, as he has gained the trust of all the Lebanese,” the Patriarch stated.

The Patriarch and his delegation conveyed their commitment to standing by the President and the Lebanese people during this critical period. Speaking of Lebanon’s potential, Patriarch John X remarked, “The light has dawned, and a new page has opened for Lebanon. Beirut, ever bright, is a message not only to the Arab world but to the entire globe.”

The discussion highlighted Lebanon’s multifaceted challenges, including economic turmoil, financial instability, the aftermath of the Beirut Port explosion, and tensions in the south following recent Israeli aggression. Patriarch John X emphasized that while the road to recovery is long and arduous, President Aoun’s leadership inspires confidence across the nation.

The Patriarch concluded with prayers for Lebanon’s prosperity and stability, extending his blessings to the President and the people of Lebanon.
