Archimandrite Anastasios Mamaj Consecrated as the Bishop of Kruja

Tirana – Albania: On December 15, 2024, Archimandrite Anastasios Mamaj was ordained as the new Bishop of Kruja at the Gracious Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Tirana.

The ordination ceremony was led by His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, along with several other bishops of the Albanian Orthodox Church.

In his address, the newly ordained Bishop expressed gratitude to the Albanian Orthodox Church and emphasized the historical significance of the Diocese of Kruja, which has been a bastion of Christianity for centuries.

Archbishop Anastasios, in his speech, offered blessings to the new bishop and prayed for his strength and guidance. The ceremony concluded with the traditional cry of “Worthy!” from the congregation.

The election took place on December 9, 2024 by the Holy Synod.
