Joint Russian Choir Adorns Meskel Square of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) With Hymns

Addis Ababa- Ethiopia: On Thursday, September 26, 2024 joint Choir of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius and the Moscow Theological Academy performed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the second time at the celebration of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross “Meskel Demera”, a UNESCO Intangible World Heritage.

The Choir performed hymns at the culmination of the feast before dignitaries including His Holiness Abune Matthias Patriarch and Catholicos of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, Her Excellency Sahle-Work Zewde the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Her Excellency Shewit Shanka the Minister of Culture and Sports, Their Graces Archbishops, Ambassadors of different countries and tens of thousands of Ethiopian faithful, Sunday School choirs, cantors, and clergy.
