Jerusalem-Holy Land: The Jerusalem Patriarchate has issued a strong statement condemning Israel’s recent decision to ban Christian worshippers from participating in the Feast of the Transfiguration services on Mount Tabor.

The Patriarchate accused Israeli authorities of using security concerns as a pretext to impede Christian religious practices. This decision, similar to a previous incident last year, has denied thousands of faithful congregants access to this sacred site.

The Patriarchate emphasized the importance of freedom of worship for the indigenous Christian community in the Holy Land. It urged Israeli authorities to respect these fundamental rights and refrain from obstructing religious ceremonies.

Despite previous attempts to address these issues with Israeli officials, the Patriarchate expressed disappointment over the continued restrictions. It called on the authorities to reassess their stance and allow Christians to exercise their faith freely.
