Pope Tawadros II Receives Cyprus’ Ambassador to Egypt

Cairo -Egypt: H.H. Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria received the Ambassador of Cyprus Polly Ioannou in his Papal Residence on 15 December 2022.
According to the official statement, “Ambassador stressed on the special relationship between Egypt and Cyprus.
H.H. presented an overview about the history of Egypt and the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Churches Family and the presence of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Cyprus and the good relationship with the President and the Bishops. The Ambassador then asked H.H. about his vision for the future needs of Egypt and H.H. said that there is a priority to build new schools as education is the foundation, followed by supporting the economy and the poorest groups, and also the role of social media in spreading awareness for the new generations.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador invited H.H. for a visit to Cyprus during the Enthronement of the new Archbishop”.
