Parumala-Kerala-India: Metropolitan Severios Mathews has been installed as the Malankara Metropolitan and Nasrani Mooppan at St Peters and St Pauls Orthodox Church on the 14th of October 2021 (Parumala). Metropolitan Severios is the 22nd Malankara Metropolitan on the Apostolic Throne of St.Thomas. Metropolitan Severiosu was unanimously elected by the Malankara Nasranis Association, the apex administrative parliament of the Malankara Church. He will be soon consecrated as Catholicos and head of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church.

Malankara Metropolitan (Malankara Nasrani Mooppan) is the head of the ancient Malankara Church. He is also the custodian of the Malankara Nasranieth, the socio-cultural and religious system of Malankara Nasranis worldwide. The office of the Malankara Mooppan is the most powerful institution of the Bharathiya (Indian) Church.
