Patriarchate of Jerusalem Launch the “Lana” Housing Development Project

Jerusalem-Holy Land: “The Lana housing development project is a symbol of cooperation between the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the wider local community to improve people’s living standards, provide housing, and job opportunities for thousands of citizens in the city, especially in light of the immense challenges that our Holy City and its community are witnessing” stated Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem in his speech at the launch (11th October 2021) of the ‘Lana’ neighbourhood housing project, which is the largest one in the city.
This project is a joint venture of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and Massar International Company. The project comprises nearly four hundred residential units, commercial hubs, restaurants, movie theatres, cafes, offices schools, kindergarten and other spaces for entertainment. A nine-member committee for independent screening has been set up. The project will cost an amount of one billion Israeli shekel (3,10,345 dollars, 2,67,432 Euros).
Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Palestine, Sheikh Azzam Khateeb, the head of the Islamic Waqf, Evangelos Vlioras, the Greek Consul General in Jerusalem and other dignitaries took part in the opening ceremony.
