Ukrainian Orthodox Church Announce ‘Backpack of Mercy – 2021’ Annual Charity Event

Kyiv-Ukraine: The Ukrainian Orthodox Church has announced the annual charity event titled Backpack of Mercy – 2021 to provide assistance to low-income, large, needy families in gathering children for school. The event is dedicated to the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin (Theotokos). Every year about a hundred children are benefited through the project.

The project is managed by the Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Donations may be sent to the account of the Synodal Department of the UOC on social and humanitarian issues with the indication of the payment “Backpack of Mercy”
