Romanian Orthodox Church

Sunday, 24 June 2012, the graduates of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of “Patriarch Justinian” of Bucharest took the oath of faith. The event took place at the Patriarchate Palace, in “Patriarch Teoctist” Aula Magna, in the presence of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church. His Grace Varlaam Ploieşteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch was also present.

In the speech addressed to the young graduates, the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church showed that the Orthodox missionary, either clerical or laic, must have a good command of the faith of the Church, be its confessor in the parish, in educational, cultural, social philanthropic, and mass media units, as well as in positions with social administrative responsibility.

At the same time, the Patriarch of Romania emphasised the fact that the graduation of the studies and preparation of the theology thesis are only a basis for a future richer development, more solid and dynamic.

The feast began at the Metropolitan Cathedral of “Saint Spiridon the New” with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by His Grace Varlaam Poliesteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, assisted by a group of priests and deacons.

The rev professors of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Bucharest, the graduates’ parents, and their friends attended the event.
