OCP Secretary George Alexander Speaks at Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy Conference

Thessaloniki: With the blessing of Rt Rev Chor-bishop Dr. Kyriakose Thottupuram of Chicago, George Alexander (Secretary and Spokesperson of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society) gave a talk at the second day of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy Seminar Conference (I.A.O) on Mass Media. The Conference titled Christianity – Orthodoxy and the media in the modern world is being held at Thessaloniki form 12 – 15 May 2014.

Mr. George spoke on the subject ‘Seeking United Orthodox Christian Witness through Mass Media’. The presentation urged the conciliar unification of Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches, revamping the dialogue for unity, the role and challenges of Mass Media in creating a united Orthodox Christian witness.

George was at the conference as a speaker and participant at the invitation I.A.O. Secretary-General Anastasios Nerantzis (Member of Hellenic Parliament and former Minister) as well as The President of the I.A.O. General Assembly, Sergi Popov (Member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation).

George was the only speaker in the conference from the ancient Oriental Orthodox communion as well as of the Indian origin representing India.

The seminar conference on Mass Media and Orthodoxy is attended by several Orthodox journalists, Christian media specialists from various Orthodox Churches and ecumenical organizations.
