Metropolitan Onufry of Chernovtsy & Bukovina elected as the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church:

Kiev: The Enthronement of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine and Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox – Moscow Patriarchate was held at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on August 17th 2014. The ceremony took place at the square in front of Cathedral of the Dormition. Divine Liturgy was served and special prayers were made.

The representatives from the local Orthodox Churches were present for the glorious event. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill was represented by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk Churche of Constantinople by Metropolitan Emmanuel Gaul, Church of Alexandria by Metropolitan Athanasius, Patriarchate of Jerusalem by Metropolitan Vostrskyy Timothy, Church of Georgia by Metropolitan’s Sergei Nekreskyy Potiyskyy and Hobskyy Grigol, Church of Serbia by Bishop Moravichskyy Anthony, Church of Romania by Metropolitan Tyrhovyshtskyy Nifont, Church of Bulgaria by Bishop Naum Eladskoyi and by Bishop Hrystyyanupolskyy Procopius, Poland Church by Archbishop Abel of Lublin and Chelm, Archimandrite Seraphim represented Orthodox Church of Czech lands and Slovakia, Orthodox Church in America was represented by Bishop Michael of New York and Irenaeus Bishop of Quebec, the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia by Archbishop Mark of Berlin.

Thousands of Ukrainian Orthodox faithful, many Clergy and Bishops of Ukrainian Church took part in the event.
