Kerala: Primate of the Assyrian Church of the East in India – Metropolitan Mar Aprem received the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE delegation on 27th November 2014 at the St Thomas Apostolic Seminary in Kottayam District of Kerala.

Secretary on behalf of the delegation introduced the aims and mission of OCP Society particularly in the field of pan-Orthodox unity. Discussions were made on several topics namely the union of Assyrian Church with the Ancient Church of the East, dialogue with the Orthodox world, persecution of Christians in the Middle East.

OCP  delegates informed Metropolitan Aprem on their desire to have enhanced cooperation with the Assyrian Church of the East. This was recommended by Dr. Christine Chaillot, a renowned pan-orthodox activist. Metropolitan wholeheartedly welcomed the request. Secretary George remarked that OCP Society considers the Assyrian Church of the East as part of the ‘Greater Orthodox World’ and will do everything to enhance further cooperation between Assyrian Church and the Orthodox Churches.

OCP Media Network (the world’s largest Orthodox Christian News Portal) have been broadcasting news and events from the Middle East, especially on the persecution of Assyrian Christians.

On behalf of the OCP Foundation, Varghese John presented Metropolitan Aprem with the OCP Order of Three Saints and George Alexander presented him with the copy of the Pan-orthodox publication titled ‘Collected Writings on Orthodox Christianity’.

The OCP delegation was led by Varghese John Thottapuzha (Director- Dept. Of Publications) and he was accompanied by George Alexander (Secretary), Subin Varghese (Vice-Chairman), Abraham P Koshy ( Treasurer) and Ajesh T Phillip ( Delegate of Indian Sub-Continent and Chief Project Coordinator – MARP).
