Catholicos of All Armenians received the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Armenia
On July 23, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Ambassador Traian Hristea, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Armenia.
Visiting the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on the occasion of the completion of his mission, Ambassador Hristea expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for the cooperation from the Mother See, and presented his activities implemented in different spheres of Armenian life during the past four years. The Ambassador noted the maintenance and strengthening of the common values and the exerted efforts of the EU in the Human rights protection.
His Holiness expressed his appreciation to Mr. Traian Hristea, for his service to Armenia, noting with satisfaction the support provided to Armenia by the EU. During the meeting, His Holiness stressed the importance of strengthening spiritual and moral values, through which it will be possible to overcome all the difficulties facing the Homeland and the people will be able to build a prosperous life.
At the conclusion, the Armenian Pontiff wished Ambassador Hristea success in his future endeavors.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the Armenia-EU relations and the issue of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
