Kerala/Indian/Global: The Indian & Syrian Orthodox faithful in India and all over the world celebrate the great feast of St Gregorious of Parumala on the first and second of November 2012. Known for his pious life and strong teachings of Orthodoxy, St Gregorious of Parumala is the first canonized in India Saint. Parumala Perunnal or the feast of Parumala is held annually to commemorate the death anniversary of St.Gregorios Geevarghese Metropolitan.
Mortal remains of the great saint is preserved inside the church. Special prayers and colorful processions are held. Devotees from all parts of the world, especially large number of non-Christans attend the blessed ceremony.
The feast is celebrated by Indian Malankara Orthodox Church and the Syrian Orthodox Church in India.
