Berlin- Germany: Metropolitan Abraham Stephanos of the UK, Europe, and Africa visited Anba Demian of North Germany and the Abbot of St. Mary & St. Morris Monastery, Hoexter, on November 6, 2023, at the Diocese headquarters, the Coptic Orthodox Monastery of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Mauritius in Hoexter-Brenkhausen.

Metropolitan Abraham Stephanos and Anba Demian expressed a commitment to fostering deeper ties between their respective dioceses and communities and working collaboratively on initiatives that promote peace, tolerance, and understanding.

The meeting also addressed the challenges faced by Orthodox priests in Germany, with Anba Demian’s role as the Deputy Chairman of the Ecumenical Commission for the Support of Orthodox Priests being a focal point of discussion. The leaders explored ways to enhance support structures for clergy and facilitate a stronger network among Orthodox communities in the region.

Metropolitan Stephanos was accompanied by Fr. Varghese Mathew, Diocesan Secretary of UK-Europe & Africa, Fr. Rohith Skariah Georgy, Fr. Jibin Thomas Abraham, and Mr. Libin Varghese, Diocesan Council Member.

The visit of Metropolitan Abraham Stephanos marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships and build bridges of understanding between diverse Christian communities.
