Boston-USA: Archimandrite Benedict was consecrated and enthroned as the Bishop of Hartford and the New England of Orthodox Church in America by, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon and other hierarchs of the Holy Synod on December 02, 2023, at Boston Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. The Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America elected Archimandrite Benedict as Bishop-elect of Hartford and the New England on November 07, 2023.

The Orthodox Church in America was joined by His Grace Bishop John of Worcester of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese and His Grace Bishop Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America.

The seat has been vacant since September 01, 2019, after the demise of His Eminence Archbishop Nikon of Boston and New England and the Albanian Archdiocese of the Orthodox Church in America. The diocese was ruled by His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon as locum tenens since then.
