THE PRESS OFFICE OF THE ROMANIAN PATRIARCHATE informs us:
On 29 October 2010, the working session of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church took place in the Synodal Room of the Patriarchal Residence, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarchal Daniel.
The hierarchs of the Holy Synod approved the canonization of Pious Iordion from Lainici Monastery, father confessor of Saint Hierarch Calinic from Cernica. Pious Irodion will be celebrated on 3 May.
During the synodal meeting special heed was paid to the intensification of the spiritual life in the theological schools and to the pastoral issues in the Romanian Orthodox Diaspora.
