US Ambassador to Ethiopia Meets Patriarch Abune Mathias Amid Tigray Warning

Addis Ababa-Ethiopia: The United States Ambassador to Ethiopia Her Excellency Ms Geeta Pasi hosted H. H. Abune Mathias, the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church after his warning on the war on Tigray.

According to the media, the Patriarch previously stated that “they want to destroy the people of Tigray”. He also stated that “many barbarisms have been conducted” these days all over Ethiopia, but “what is happening in Tigray is of the highest brutality and cruelty.”

According to the US Embassy FB page, the Patriarch and the Ambassador discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Tigray. Ms Pasi also invited the head of the Ethiopian Church to take part in the future inter-faith community meetings at the Embassy.
