UOC Primate Awarded Organizers of Media Coverage of Patriarch Kirill’s Visit to Ukraine
October 15 His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine conferred the orders of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church dedicated to “450 Years of Bringing of Pochayiv Theotokos Icon to Volyn” on Granovskyi Volodymyr Mykhailovych and Bezliudna Anna Vitlayivna for organization of the media coverage of the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia by “Inter” TV-Channel.
The conferment of the jubilee order is no coincidence, since the last broadcast of the patriarchal liturgical service was held on August 5 of the jubilee 2009 year from the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra on the commemoration of the Pochayiv Icon of the Mother of God. It is on that day that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church started to commemorate the 450th anniversary of bringing of the Pochayiv Icon of the Mother of God to Volyn.
