UOC-MP Synod Renews Activity of Committee on Dialogue with UOC-KP and UAOC
KYIV — At the session of the Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) on September 9, 2009, its members passed a decision to renew the activity of the Synodal Committee on Dialogue with the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC) and to set up a work team to prepare a dialogue with Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate (UOC-KP) representatives.
At the same time, the participants expressed concern over “sharpening of the inter-denominational situation caused by facts of seizure of church buildings of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [UOC-MP] by representatives of UOC-KP with the support of the state authorities.” Special addresses in this regard were forwarded to Ukraine’s president, premier, speaker, and heads of regional state administrations where conflicts are registered.
