Damascus: His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II consecrated two new bishops for the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and All East

Mor Maurice Amsih, Bishop for Director of the Public Relations and Protocol Department at the Patriarchate
and Mor Georges Kourieh, Bishop & Dean of St. Aphrem Theological Seminary at Maarat Saydnaya.

The consecration took place at St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral in Mor Aphrem Monastery in Maarat Saydnaya on June 29, 2015 (Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul).

Also attending were the following Archbishops: Mor Theophilos George Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli and General Secretary of the Holy Synod, Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama and Environs, Mor Justinos Boulos Safar, Patriarchal Vicar in Zahleh and Beqaa, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shemoun, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Secretary, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, Patriarchal Secretary for Indian Affairs.
