The Weimar Human Rights Prize awarded to the two abducted Orthodox Bishops of Aleppo

Germany: The Weimar Human Rights Prize was awarded to two abducted Bishops. Archbishop Yohanna Ibrahim (Syriac-Orthodox Church) and Bishop Boulos Yazigi (Greek-Orthodox Church) were working for the release of an abducted priest near Aleppo, when they themselves abducted on the 22nd of April, 2013. They have not been released.
The city of Weimar honored two Bishops for their tireless efforts for reconciliation, pluralism and the end to violence in their homeland of Syria. His Eminence Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis from the Syriac-Orthodox Church in Germany spoke during today’s press conference about the plight of the Syrian people. He said that he heard from two sources that the Bishops are still alive. Here is to hoping that they will be released eventually, and the bloodshed in Syria will come to an end.
