All of Serbia has been moved to tears by the story of 12-year-old Milica Rackov and her loyal dog Lara. Milica and her younger siblings are the only children left in the village of Konjuva, located in the municipality of Kuršumlija, just north of Kosovo & Metohija. Every morning she wakes up at 5 am and walks 15 km with Lara in order to make it on time for class in the only school in the area. The family is burdened by an unstable financial situation; the home lacks a washing machine, a fridge and Milica does not have a computer she needs for school. SRPSKI
