The Struggle Of An Invalid Father To Feed His Kids Will Bring Tears in Your Eyes

The Struggle Of An Invalid Father To Feed His Kids Will Bring Tears in Your Eyes

28Jun NGO – 29/10/2019

THE STORY

A good friend of ours from Doboj alerted us on a distressing story about a single father from the area. After Dusko Stojanovic lost his right arm and left eye in an accident, his wife left him and he is now struggling to provide food and shelter to his two young boys. Due to his status as an invalid, he was pressured to give his boys up for adoption. But Dusko refused, and as you can see in the video, he still manages to find odd jobs even with his disabilities. The main issue the family faces is an unstable housing situation; the home lacks a bathroom and is in very poor shape. Our aim, with your help, is to get them permanently settled. I know, the video is painful to watch, but it is important for us not to look away and to take initiative!

We take financial efficiency and transparency very seriously at 28. Jun. We are the first humanitarian organization from the Western Balkans to be granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations. With an estimated 10 million NGOs in the world, less than .0005%, or 4500, have achieved Consultative Status. The application process was lengthy and vigorous — the UN’s NGO Committee spent two years thoroughly vetting our finances and results.
