The Romanian Patriarch celebrated his name day by prayer

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel celebrated his name day, on Thursday, 17 December 2015, on the feast day of St Daniel the Prophet.

Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral

On this occasion, the Patriarch of Romania has officiated the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, together with an assembly of hierarchs, assisted by priests and deacons.

Together with His Beatitude also concelebrated:

His Eminence Teofan, Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina;

His Eminence Andrei, Metropolitan of Cluj, Maramureş and Sălaj;

His Eminence Irineu, Metropolitan of Oltenia;

His Eminence Vasranufie, Archbishop of Râmnic;

His Eminence Ioachim, Archbishop of Roman and Bacău;

His Eminence Casian, Archbishop of Lower Danube;

His Grace Ambrozie, Bishop of Giurgiu;

His Grace Visarion, Bishop of Tulcea;

His Grace Varlaam Ploieşteanul (of Ploieşti), Assistant Bishop to the Romanian Patriarch;

His Grace Ieronim Sinaitul (of Sinai), Assistant Bishop to the Romanian Patriarch;

His Grace Timotei Prahoveanul (of Prahova), Assistant Bishop to the Arhidiocese of Bucharest.

His Grace Paisie Lugojeanul (of Lugoj), Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Timişoara;

Prayers of thanksgiving were said during the Divine Liturgy for the protection and help bestowed upon the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church in the service of our Church and for the benefit of the Romanian people.

In the Patriarchal Cathedral were also present members of the National Church Council and of the Eparchial Council of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, the archpriests of the deaneries in Bucharest, Prahova and Ilfov, professors of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology Patriarch Justinian and of the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Bucharest, numerous priests and faithful.
