Warsaw-Poland: The Rite of Forgiveness was held at the Warsaw Metropolitan Cathedral of Warsaw of the polish Church on 14th March 2021. The service was lead by Metropolitan Sawa of Poland. The primate was assisted by the clergy serving the capital city as well as by the clergy of the Orthodox Ordinariate of the Polish Army.

During the ceremony, Met. Sawa stated that “It is God’s will that we enter a special time in the life of the Church, the saving time of Lent when all the Christian’s attention is focused on spiritual vigilance and action. Fasting is nothing more than abstinence, which cannot be reduced by not eating meals. For the Orthodox, fasting is always associated with abstinence, especially abstinence in passions. It is also a time of restraint of language, refraining from slander, malice, anger, division, scandal and immoral life. The task of the Great Lent is to prepare us for the joyful encounter of Blessed Saturday and the mystery of the Easter night. “
